Ed Tillson’s breeding program began in the 1970s with some outstanding hunting & field trial dogs. From this line his best-known dog was born in 1990, NFC/DC/AFC Tequila’s Joker. “TJ” amassed a remarkable record as a competitor from 1991-2001, including winning the 1997 ABC National Field Championship in an entry of 89 dogs! His production record is unsurpassed, including siring the 2005 ABC National Amateur Champion, the 2006 ABC National Champion & Runner-Up, 2008 National Specialty winner, two winners of the prestigious US Open Brittany Championship. After his passing in 2005, TJ was elected to both the Brittany Field Trial Hall of Fame and the American Brittany Club Hall of Fame, and was later followed by three of his offpsring. Ed became a professional field trial trainer in 2007, and in 2017 married fellow Brittany competitor, Jessica Carlson (Alar Brittanys), who owned TJ’s Hall of Fame daughter, DC/AFC Tequila With A Twist. Jessica serves as the team’s scout, computer pro, chief puppy raiser, and show (and sometimes field) handler. Ed and Jessica are pictured with the 2019 ABC National Field Champion, Wild Wild Willie, owned by Steve Cosgriff, handled by Ed to the title.
