Anita Stelter was born into a dog show family in Southern California. She grew up showing and breeding Rough & Smooth Collies (Classique Collies). She began competing in Junior Showmanship in the early 1980s and attending the Collie Club of America National Specialty each year.
As a teenager, Anita apprenticed under the renowned all-breed handlers, the late Corky & Sue Vroom, learning the dog show trade from the experts. As a breeder/owner/handler, she had great success breeding dozens of specialty-winning champions, several National Specialty winners, and Register of Merit (ROM) producers.
Professionally, Anita spent ten years with Countrywide Home Loans in Southern California, ultimately becoming a Division Vice President, managing a department of 300 employees.
In the mid-2000s, Anita married Matt Stelter of Wyndlair Collies and moved to Wisconsin. There, they began their family and dog breeding life together. They started their family having two children, Landon and Lauren. At the same time, Wyndlair Collies was quickly realizing great success with Anita piloting the campaigns of several historic Collies. They bred the #1-ranked littermates, GCHB. Wyndlair Point Given and the record-breaking GCHP. Wyndlair Cherokee Vindication, as well as the Top-Winning White Collie in Breed History, GCHB. Wyndlair Classique Incandescent, ROM.
