Kathy Rust
Breeder Education
Dogs have been part of Kathy’s life since the day she was born. She has had Vizslas since 1986 and has bred 180 American Kennel Club conformation champions including multiple BISS and all-breed Best in Show winners as well as dogs that have earned over 1000 performance titles under the Kizmar prefix. She actively competes in conformation, rally, obedience, agility and scent work. While she is not an active competitor in field events, the dual purpose Vizsla is extremely important to her.
Kathy is a licensed AKC conformation judge for multiple sporting breeds and junior showmanship. She currently serves as the American Kennel Club Delegate for the Vizsla Club of America, Inc and serves as a Board of Director for the Vizsla Club of America Welfare Foundation. Talking about dog breeding as well as form and function is her passion. She loves mentoring and helping others. After retiring as a 36-year military veteran, Kathy enjoys life adventuring around the world, living in rural North Dakota with her husband, five Vizslas and two cats as well as spending time with her family while spoiling her grandkids!
