Redstart Australian Cattle Dogs

My name is Karacel Hayman, now Ward as of 09-26-26, when I married my husband Dean and made him officially a permanent part of Redstart ACDs. I started out in 4-H with showmanship, obedience, and rally. When I was aging out, I decided to look into well bred, purebred dogs so I could continue to show and do sports. I fell in love with an Australian Cattle Dog named Lucille in 2017 and the rest is history! I had many firsts with Lucille in showing and training and I learned a lot. She was the mother of my very first litter in 2019, which produced Clarice, my first bred by champion, grand champion, bronze grand champion, and award of merit winner at the 2021 national specialty. Since then, I have bred and trained multiple champions and titlists in obedience, rally, dock diving, barn hunt, agility, scent work, herding, and more! I breed on a limited basis and with the intention of keeping a puppy back for my program. All of my dogs are health tested to breed requirements on OFA plus a few additional tests. I breed with the standard in mind with the goal of producing healthy, sound dogs that can excel in a variety of sports. Temperament is of great importance to me as well and I don’t mind that my dogs are often described as friendlier than typical ACDs. I am also willing to help out anyone that is interested in the breed as I always love talking about dogs!
