Acires Ibizan Hounds

I brought home my first Ibizan Hound, a rehomed boy named Jason who had just turned two years old, in May of 2011. He introduced me not only to the breed, but to the world of purebred dog sports. We traveling the US competing in Lure Coursing, and we kind of accidentally fell into doing Conformation shows together. He was my first Dual Champion, and my first Grand Champion. Through our involvement, I met a close friend in the breed and began assisting her with her active breeding program in 2013, helping whelp and raise many litters. I found I loved the process, as well as getting to know the many homes, and learning the pedigrees and health of the breed satisfied the obsessive record-keeping portion of my brain. I established Acires Ibizan Hounds and bred my first litter in 2022; those five puppies earned me my Breeder of Merit status with their many titles in a variety of venues, and got me started with my first two Bred-By Dual Champions. I’ve had multiple puppies titled in AKC, but I’ve also bred the youngest CKC Champion titled Ibizan Hound, and the top winning Ibizan Hound in Sweden in 2024 (Conformation) & 2025 (Conformation & Lure Coursing). I truly love every aspect of this breed – they are endlessly comical and loving to live with, and they are up for just about anything. They are truly underestimated as the incredibly versatile breed that they are. I love to introduce new people to how wonderful they are, and I find it an absolute thrill to see them so loved in their homes.
